Meet Katie!

The Newest Addition to our One Egg Family!

We would like to introduce the newest addition to our One Egg family. Katie McGehee will be spending her summer as an intern in Rwanda. She will play a crucial role in monitoring the feeding sites that you support and registering future sites to come! Her responsibilities will also include supporting our partner organization Ikiraro by assisting with the placement of new flocks and monitoring the day to day elements that directly impact egg production.

Since she hit the campus of the U of A Katie has been active in the life of the university and her department. She has served as a member of the Associated Student Government, Sigma Alpha Sorority (for women in agriculture), Gamma Beta Phi National Honor & Service Society, Fresh HOGS mentor, Poultry Science Club, and the Crop, Soil & Environmental Science Club.Learn more about Katie and her qualifications that makes her the first ever OneEgg.org Intern!

Katie has developed a deep passion to serve marginalized populations in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically the nation of Rwanda. Recently she has played a major role in the planning of Rwanda Awareness Week in memory of the genocide that took place nearly two decades ago. Katie enjoys camping, biking, and anything that keeps her outdoors! Upon graduation Katie plans to continue to work internationally after graduation, developing poultry in communities in sub-Saharan Africa and India.
